2017 Eddies
The Drayton Arms Theatre exists to help new and emerging companies and artists to stage their work in a supportive and cost effective environment. The Eddies started in 2016 as a means to this end.
They want to find the most exciting new companies at this year’s Fringe Festival and offer them the chance to remount their Edinburgh success with an immediate London transfer. All normal hire fees / rental costs to be waived as part of this award and they will also supply a technician for your get-in at no cost to the company, as well as flyer, poster printing and distribution costs.
Companies are required to remunerate their own company members and provide a SM/Operator for the full run but 100% of ticket sales go to the winning company. Potentially and conservatively a return of £3500+ can be expected on a three week run.
The Drayton Arms Theatre claim that this is he biggest UK Fringe prize on offer – we don’t doubt that!
Applications for the Eddies are open online here and to be considered for the Eddies 2017 Companies should apply no later than August 15th. Companies doing Edinburgh Previews at the Drayton Arms Theatre are automatically considered, should they wish to participate and to apply for an Edinburgh Preview slot at the Drayton Arms

“Winning the Eddies Award was a massive turning point for our company. Having a 3-week run in London without any rent or contra costs meant not only that we could pay our team, but also that we could save money for future shows and develop our work. Since winning the award we have created a great relationship with the Drayton Arms Theatre and they have been incredibly supportive. We cannot thank them enough!”
